Honduras 2024 - Sowing Seeds of Hope

Sowing Seeds of Hope

Luke  8

Faith & Actions Ministry is thrilled to be bringing back our International Humanitarian efforts after our pandemic pause opened our eyes to a local ministry opportunity in middle Tennessee, FAM Essentials, which is now flourishing.  Now that we have FAM Essentials operational and doing so much good, we now have the opportunity to return to the international ministry. This time we will be heading to Macuelizo – Valle de Angeles, Honduras. We had a special request from the locals for this trip and pulled it together rather quickly. We will be leaving March 2nd, 2024, and returning March 9th.

How interesting it is that we began as an international ministry and expanded back into the United States. This inspired us to theme this trip after Luke 8 primarily 4-15. The parable tells a story of a sower spreading his seeds everywhere, primarily described as 4 different locations: On the beaten path, amongst the rocks, amongst thorns and on good ground and produced a crop 100 fold. The sower specifically says, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear”. Read More at the bottom!

This so specifically describes how we should approach missions and ministries. Who are we to be discriminate in where we show this unconditional love?  After all, we began our work internationally then came back and started a ministry in Lebanon, Tennessee. At FAM we will go to the need... anyone, anywhere. We are all God's children.

This couldn’t be a better time to restart this ministry. What seeds are we sowing?  Hope, Love, Spirituality, Humanitarian Relief, Medical Care, Furniture for the needy, Food for Hungry Children and more.

Now, in the parable of Luke, we will be as “careless” as the sower in Luke 8. We will cast out these blessings of hope, love, medical care and security everywhere, without consideration and most of all wrapped with love. God is Love, so FAM is Love.

Now as we prepare for the trip, we have a few updates:

  1. We will be bringing back vision care on this trip! Thanks to the contributions from Discover Realty and Auction & Jeff Hallums, REALTOR, we have ordered a massive supply of eye glasses from a new partner, Restoring Vision. We are also pleased to welcome back Kyla Hallums, our Founders daughter, to run the vision clinic. Since the last time she’s came, she’s near perfected her command of the Spanish language through the success of her business in Life Coaching and Latin Dance Arts. It has been a pleasure watching her ministry over the past few years in latin America. So focused is her work in supporting developing countries and artists that we joke of her absence in Tennessee. She’s built up a business that brings much needed resources and tourism to areas in need. During that time she’s learned Spanish and we are blessed to utilize this skill as we head to bring the gift of sight to the people of Honduras.

  2. We anticipate another year of significant need in Dental and General Medical Practice in Honduras. For that reason, we are collecting donations to purchase pharmaceuticals and medical supplies for just under 1k people in Honduras. Please click the donation button below to make a one time or reoccurring donation. We need your help

The 4 Soils

  1. Luke 8:12. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

  2. Luke 8:13. But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.

  3. Luke 8:14. Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

  4. Luke 8:15. But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.

Which are you? Are you being selective and judging before you sow your seeds and show love OR do you send love out everywhere and allow God and Destiny to choose?
